Climbing Jebel Toubkal (4,167m) in High Atlas, Morocco to raise money for Project Mala

Hello,

Harry WelchMy name is Harry Welch. I am 10 years old and live in North Yorkshire and I am raising sponsorship money for Project Mala. I think it is a good idea to raise money for Project Mala because the children will get to go to school and learn lot of subjects like me. It makes me think I'm really lucky at my school in Terrington. We are trying to raise £900 between us.

To do this I am going to try and climb the highest mountain in Morocco at the end of July with my dad, my friend Alexander Sulyok and his dad. The mountain is over 4,000m high and it is going to take us 3 days - I can't wait.

Thank you,
Harry

Starting in the dark with a chill wind they climbed with head torches until the sun rose in spectacular fashion lighting the mountains with a warm orange glow. The view from the top was expansive looking over the anti atlas mountains towards the Sahara. The boys even raised some sponsorship at the top from fellow summiteers and were by far the youngest attempting the mountain that day.
