2010 we were in India for our family holiday. On the trip my 6 year old son Hridai
noticed lots children collecting rubbish and begging on the street, at that point
he asked why these children doing this and not going to school. He was so moved
by the sight of these children, he asked how we can help them.
We have been sponsoring Anil Kumar through Project Mala for over a year and are
very happy to see the wonderful progress that he is making.
As I am approaching a milestone event in my life I decided to do something memorable
so I decide to run the 2012 Comrades ultra marathon. My aim is to raise more than
£1000 for Project Mala, as this charity is very close to our hearts.
2012 Event low down
With over 2 years in planning, with over 750 training miles clocked up in the past
five months, the event is only a 34 days away and I am beginning to get nervous.
The 2012 is a down run with 18000 participants. The race starts in Pietermaritzburg
on Sunday 3rd June at 5:30am and finishes at 17:30 in Durban, total distance of
56miles - 89km. I plan to finish the race in less than 11 hours and in the best
possible shape!
